Based in New York City, Skyy was an American R&B (Rhythm and Blues) band that is probably best known for their hit song, “Call Me”. Some of the lyrics goes like this: “Say, you're not satisfied, things ain't workin’ out with your girlfriend…Here's my number and a dime, call me anytime. If you need someone to talk to…Call me, satisfaction guaranteed.” Hmmm.
Today the satisfaction guaranteed “stamp” is used by businesses and corporations to assure their customers of the quality of the products and services they provide. Their promise usually goes something like this: “Satisfaction guaranteed or your money back.” This promise or “stamp” raises your comfort level as you make your purchase; and it increases the company’s sales.
But if you live long enough you will find out that life hardly has any guarantees, apart from the words of God. And in Ecclesiastes 3:12-13 we find these words: 12 I know that there is nothing better for people than to be happy and to do good while they live. 13 That each of them may eat and drink, and find satisfaction in all their toil—this is the gift of God.
God wants you to be happy and joyful while you live. That is, have a positive outlook about everything and everybody. How is that possible given the fact that sometimes situations can be bad, and people can do bad? Well, you keep believing that God is with you; and his power can make wrong right, turn darkness into light, and produce something good out of a bad situation.
Have you been disappointed by something or someone? Has something or someone not lived up to your expectations? Have you become unhappy with a person, a place, or a thing, because what you expected is different from what you experienced? Are you starting to feel dissatisfied with your circumstances or your life? If so, I encourage you to look to God, lean on God, and learn from God.
God is guaranteeing your right to a life of satisfaction and celebration. So be happy. Do some good. Eat, drink, and be content with the things God has provided for you. Be satisfied with the good you are doing, no matter how great or small.
I will answer them before they even call to me. While they are still talking about their needs, I will go ahead and answer their prayers! (Isaiah 65:24, NLT). Whatever you are going through, call on God; He is anxious to hear from you. Here’s the good news: You don’t need a dime, yet you can call on God anytime. And satisfaction is guaranteed!
